Activity 1-What’s in the title ?
Guide  ss to talk about the title “ Safe and Sound”
Ask the following questions – What does the title mean ?
How do you make sure you are safe when you are coming to school ?
( Accept all possible answers)

Activity 2 –Road Signs
Draw ss attention to the road signs in the stimulus.
Get ss to name the road signs.
Lead ss to discuss the road signs they have seen or came across.
Ask ss  these  questions – What are the road signs around the housing estate ?
                                              What are the road signs in your town ?
                                              Can you name the road signs near the school?
 ( Accept all possible answers to encourage ss to talk and share )

(Activities)
Activity 1- Name the road signs.
Get ss to look at the road signs on  page  20  and name them.

Activity 2
Listen and say aloud the road signs.
Allow ss to listen and practise saying aloud the road signs

Activity  3
Guess the road signs
 Divide the  ss into 4 groups. Then play the guessing game . Tr gives 2 marks for every correct answer a group gives.
This is a fun activity to get ss to identify and say aloud the correct road signs.

Activity 4
Right or wrong
Draw ss attention to the pictures on pg 21
Get ss to talk about the pictures by asking the following questions
What do you see in Picture 1 ?
What do you think will happen to  the two boys ?
What advice would you give to them ?
Then proceed to the rest of the pictures.
